well guess what, I'm in a meeting. I feel like I spend my life in meetings and don't get to spend enough time taking with all of you and we're both missing out.
So I thought I'd start this blog thing up and use it to toss out random thoughts and hear from you too.
I'm not promising that this will live forever but hey let's give it a shot and I'll try to have something somewhat interesting to say.

Hello!!

well guess what, I'm in a meeting. I feel like I spend my life in meetings and don't get to spend enough time taking with all of you and we're both missing out.

So I thought I'd start this blog thing up and use it to toss out random thoughts and hear from you too.

very cool, and since you said don't be shy, it's about time. We need this on our team if for no other reason we live so far apart from each other and most of us don't get a chance to talk about not only work but about the one thing that brought us together in the first "great food" and the passion we all have for real food, like the meal I'm enjoying now as I write this, some heirloom tomatoes, and lebanon beef bologna with locally grown baby argula sandwiched in our country loaf.
we really have the most talented culinary teams in the country and the best thing os that we all bring something different to the table. (pun intended)think about the times we do spend together, I know for me it really motivates me, and builds that relationship that makes you want to even work harder so you don't let your "friend" down. Ok I'll stop because it does say blog instead of soapbox, but maybe blog is the new word for soapbox
but before I go I want to talk about our "Pic-Nic" or as I now call it "etisffo" offsite backwards. I will have carla's pasta send us some lobster ravs and I'll make some grilled brushetta for one night.

Peace!!!! :)

Scott, what shock that a Cheesesteak/Gyro concept didn't work. However, its even a bigger shock that could rate the Stone Temple Pilots concert over a Springsteen event.

I have buddy trying to talk me into seeing the Van Halen reunion tour. Should I stay or should I go?

Fun stuff. Keep on bloging!

I am not sure what everyone thinks of Chic-fil-a. Myrna, Art and I stopped there for lunch in Indiana this past week, and were blown away by their service. First off, you walk in the door and are greeted by about five ppl asking how your day is. Everyone flocks to the register, and you are given a group of smiling faces to place your order with. Right during their peak lunch, 2 ppl outside sweeping the parking lot, 2 ppl inside bussing, mopping, cleaning tables, and a juggler on a unicycle!!!!! Just very impressed by workers that looked like they loved being there! Outside of Utica Club and Genny Cream ale, anyone need anything else for the offsite?

Just goes to show you that consistancy is not a great attribute of Chic-fil-a. When Tom and I went into the Chic-fil-a in Nashville on Thursday we were greeted by a "I can help you over here y'all," by a young man with cat hair all over his hat. Tom told him that we had never been into a Chik-fil-a before and he proudly told us that they filet their own chicken and began demonstrating how it is done with his fingers. Good thing I wasn't hungry to begin with, because this act was too much to stomach. I wish we would have had as nice an experience as you all did.
Onto the Pic-nic, I am afraid that we may be forgetting about those with a sweet tooth out there. I will talk a couple of folks out there about dessert this week to find out what we may want to contribute. Looking forward to seeing everyone in a week!

just for the record those concerts were actually in reverse order, I just wasn't able to do the sort (didn't seem to have one).

Van Halen.. All I can say is Every Body Wants Some!!!

on the Chic fil a thing I was in one a few weeks ago in central PA and it was run very well. the canned "how is your day thing" gets a bit annoying like "welcome to moes" but I was impressed on how well they told their story and commuicated special attributes of their concept. even the lemonade had a huge ingredient statement on the side "ingredients: filtered water, lemons, sugar".

good learnings for our friends on teh marketing side. we were sure to pass that on.
